For Parents of Teenagers

Plugged In is a Focus on the Family publication designed to help equip parents, youth leaders, ministers and teens with the essential tools that will enable them to understand, navigate and impact the culture in which they live. Entertainment is a potent influence on our culture for both good and evil. Through their reviews and discussions of entertainment, they hope to spark intellectual thought, family discussion and spiritual growth.

These devotionals, offered by LifeWay Christian Resources, provide the opportunity for parents to sign upto receive weekly devotionals via their e-mail. Participants receive two 20-minute devotions each week containing solid Bible teaching, discussion questions that emphasize family involvement, and prayer guidance at the conclusion. These are offered free of charge.

HomeWord, hosted and founded by Jim Burns, is a Christian organization that seeks to advance the work of God in the world by educating, equipping, and encouraging parents and churches to build God-honoring families from generation to generation. The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding is a nonprofit organization committed to building strong families by serving to bridge the cultural-generational gap between parents and teenagers. At a time when an already confusing youth culture is changing quickly, CPYU helps parents, youth workers, educators and others understand teenagers and their culture so that they will be better equipped to help children and teens navigate the challenging world of adolescence.

The Source for youth ministry is published by Jonathan McKee.  Jonathan leads seminars all across the country educating youth ministers and parent alike on the culture of teenagers.  The mission of The Source for Youth Ministry is to reach 21st Century youth with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, develop student and adult youth leaders with effective ministry skills, and provide cutting-edge youth ministry tools and resources. Jonathan understands that parents can have the most impact on their own students, which is why he has provided a page with articles and information just for parents of teenagers.

The Ministry of Al Menconi Ministries is to educate and equip Christian parents and leaders to communicate biblical values in the home and church. They accomplish this through:

  • Evaluating today's entertainment from a biblical perspective.
  • Educating Christians about the values and influences of today's entertainment.
  • Encouraging Christians to set standards and choices consistent with God's Word.
  • Equipping Christians to teach values through Christian music.
